Obataining Information

Obtaining information from a government office or department is as easy as writing an email, making a phone call, or typing up a letter.

When searching out information on a story about a minister, arrested for addressing two teens, I began with a phone call to the police department and received the case number.

Once I had the case number, I simply emailed the department through their website. The following is the message that was sent:

I am requesting a copy of the police report for case number ######, which involved David J. Fogderud in an event in the PM on, Thursday, August 2, 2007.

The department got back to me with a reasonable price for the information. I then U.S. mailed a check to the department, at which time the department sent me a copy of the police report. It was that easy. If you would like to see what came of it all: Click Here
