Eric Cantor wants to give us a vote on
spending -
Now You Can Vote On Some Federal Spending
Cuts
Eric
Cantor, Virginia’s 7th District Representative, wants to give you and me a vote in
the federal government's
spending.
He has set
up a website, where regular people like you and I can go vote on
certain expenditures. It is pretty easy to vote. All you need is an
email address. And we all have one of those.
The website
lists ways to cut wasteful spending, such as: Eliminating
Unnecessary Congressional Printing, Prohibiting "First-Class"
Subsidies on Amtrak, and Preventing LIHEAP Payments to Individuals
Who are Deceased, Incarcerated, or Who Don't Meet Income
Requirements. Yes, you read that right. People who are deceased have
been receiving your tax dollars.
The LIHEAP (Low Income
Home Energy Assistance Program), clearly designed to help low
income people, has been handing out your tax dollars to dead people,
and incarcerated people too. The website says that even
federal employees, who earn too much money to qualify, have been
receiving money from LIHEAP. But the liberals in congress
feel that cutting Bush tax cuts on the middle class and
the rich is the way to go.
You can also submit
ideas of your own that would save tax-payer money in the federal
government. I suggested closing down the entire IRS and going back
to the U.S. Constitutional way for the federal
government to be funded, by the states. What a concept! It
would put the states to work for us, to protect our interests
from a big federal government gone haywire and save us money. Check
