Is This The Best The
GOP Can Give Us To Beat Slaughter?
At first I
was very excited about the news of a Buffalo, New York dentist
running against congresswoman Louise Slaughter. The email that
said very good things about this new candidate, asked me to
email her. Right away I became very hopeful, saying out-loud,
"finally!" Then I googled her name to learn a bit more about her.
The first
place that I found was her face book page. And the first thing to
stand out on the page was her picture. I thought, "Wow! Great
presence!" Then I scrolled down the page and saw that she did not
have a large following. But I thought, no problem, we will just have
to campaign and get her name out there. Then I
scrolled down a little further on the page, and there it was. Or
should I say, there HE was!
There was Romney, Mitt Romney;
the father of homosexual marriage in Massachusetts, the man who
signed that state's health insurance into law, the man who was very
pro abortion before he wanted to be president. Yep, there he was, in
Jill Rowland's face book page, marked as one of only two "Favorite
Pages." At this time I went into info mode and sent that
email to this new candidate, Jill Rowland. The section in that email
about Romney, went as follows:
You
have a link to Mitt Romney on your Face Book page. Mitt Romney is
the father of homosexual marriage in Massachusetts (click
here) and is who signed their state ran health care
into law (click
here). He also has a history of having been for
abortion because of a family member who died during an illegal
abortion (click
here). Though he has since said he changed his view on
abortion, he leaves the door open to claim that the only part that
he changed it on, was within the stem cell research area (click
here), and of course he could always fully change it
back. This is the behavior of a liberal politician who uses the
republican party, because he cannot make it as a
democrat.
We had a short email exchange of a handful of
emails in total. She wanted me to go to an event and talk to her. I
wanted her to respond to the information that I had clearly laid out
for her in my first email. She never did, and Romney is still
listed, right along side of John Boehner. I could not help
but wonder if she put the two of them on her face book page, as
a way to cover both types of republicans, the true
conservatives and the rhinos. At this point, I have my
answer.
Here we are in the best possible year for a
republican to win over Louise Slaughter, and this is all we
get. I think it is safe to say that we are going to be stuck
with Slaughter for another two years. Most conservatives around here
will not vote for a fence sitter. I know that I sure will not. I do
still plan to get out there and educate people about Louise
Slaughter and the need to replace her, but that we need to replace
her with a true conservative, which might not be till
2012.
